DDownload Premium FAQ: Ultimate, Speed, Limits & Billing

This FAQ answers the most common questions about DDownload Premium, currently called Ultimate on the official website. It covers download speed, daily traffic, JDownloader, billing, renewal and account issues.

Is DDownload Premium the same as Ultimate?

Ultimate is the current name used for DDownload’s paid access. Many users and older pages still refer to the service as DDownload Premium.

Both names normally refer to the paid account that includes higher available speed, parallel downloads, download-manager support, no advertising and a larger daily traffic allowance.

Does Ultimate guarantee full download speed?

No. Ultimate removes the severe speed restriction applied to free downloads, but it cannot guarantee one fixed speed for every user.

Actual performance can still depend on your ISP, international routing, server load, location, local network and the number of active connections.

In my test on a 1 Gbps fiber connection, Chrome reached about 12.5 MB/s for one file. An eight-part JDownloader 2 queue averaged 49.96 MiB/s in total. These are test results, not a universal speed promise.

What is the DDownload daily traffic limit?

The current Ultimate plan lists up to 200GB of download traffic per day.

This is a data allowance rather than a file-count limit. For example, ten 20GB files would use approximately 200GB.

DDownload does not publicly specify a guaranteed quota-reset time on the current pricing page. Avoid planning a large queue around an assumed midnight reset.

Read the DDownload daily traffic limit guide for practical examples.

Does DDownload work with JDownloader 2?

Yes. DDownload officially lists compatibility with common download managers, including JDownloader, Internet Download Manager and Free Download Manager.

I tested a Premium account with JDownloader 2 using an 11.3 GiB queue containing eight active parts. The average total speed reached 49.96 MiB/s during that session.

Setup instructions are available in our DDownload JDownloader guide.

Why is DDownload Premium still slow?

First confirm that your account is recognized as Ultimate and that direct downloading is enabled. Then compare a browser download with a JDownloader test.

Slow performance can result from ISP routing, server load, Wi-Fi limitations, local network congestion, overly conservative download-manager settings or temporary network conditions.

Do not assume that the problem is always your ISP or always DDownload. Test one change at a time using the DDownload speed troubleshooting guide.

Can a VPN improve DDownload speed?

Sometimes. A VPN can help when it provides a better route between your ISP and the DDownload server. It can also make performance worse if the VPN server is congested or has limited bandwidth.

Test the normal connection first, then compare one or two nearby VPN locations using the same file and download settings. A Netherlands or German endpoint is not automatically faster for every user.

See the DDownload VPN and routing guide for a controlled testing method.

Should I choose the 30-day or 12-month plan?

Choose 12 months for regular use. At €39.99 total—about €3.33 per month—it costs about the same as four €9.99 monthly subscription payments and less than three €14.99 one-time purchases.

Choose 30 days only for one short project or when you specifically prefer the lower upfront payment.

Does DDownload automatically renew?

The monthly subscription automatically renews unless you turn off renewal in the account dashboard. Your Ultimate access remains active until the end of the already-paid billing period after cancellation.

One-time payment options do not automatically renew. Always check whether the selected checkout option is marked as a subscription or a one-time payment before completing the order.

Can interrupted downloads resume?

DDownload states that Ultimate users can resume interrupted downloads. Free users generally need to begin the download again.

A download manager such as JDownloader is preferable for large files because it can manage interrupted transfers and queues more reliably than a browser tab.

What happens when Ultimate expires?

The account is downgraded to the free tier when the paid period ends. It is not automatically deleted merely because Ultimate expires.

Free-account restrictions then apply again, including lower speed and a more limited download process. Stored files may also become subject to the retention rules for free accounts.

Can I share my DDownload account?

No. DDownload’s Terms of Service state that users may not give their account access to third parties, lease it or sell it.

Keep the login credentials private. Shared access can create security problems and may result in account restrictions under the service terms.

Can I get a refund?

Refund requests are reviewed individually. DDownload states that refunds are generally not issued for partially used subscription periods, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Contact official support before initiating a payment dispute. The checkout page also warns that immediately activated digital access may affect withdrawal or refund rights.

Is this the official DDownload website?

No. DDownloadPremium.com is an independent purchase, testing and usage guide. It is not the official DDownload website and does not claim to be an authorized reseller.

I publish my own speed tests, plan comparisons and setup guides. Some outbound purchase links are affiliate links and may generate a commission without increasing the user’s price.

Who handles payment and account problems?

Payments, account activation, password recovery, subscription cancellation and refunds are handled by DDownload or its payment processor. This independent website cannot access customer accounts or billing records.

Use the official DDownload contact form when a payment completes but Ultimate is not activated, or when you need help with renewal, cancellation or account access.

Are files downloaded from DDownload safe?

DDownload uses encrypted web connections, but secure transport does not prove that every uploaded file is trustworthy.

File safety depends on the uploader and the source of the link. Avoid unknown sources, scan downloaded files with current security software and be cautious with executable files, scripts and password-protected archives.
